The Atletico Madrid idol is back at the club he loves dearly as a coach several months after he made the decision to hang up his boots. Fernando Torres has a coaching role with the Atletico B team. The ex-Spanish national team player is working towards his UEFA coaching qualifications and has decided to join the coaching staff at the Atletico Madrid reserve and youth team setup.
Spanish media outlet Diario AS reported that the 36-year-old left his Atletico Madrid coaching role temporarily due to personal reasons. Fernando Torres is expected to be away from the club for some weeks before he returns next month. The former Atletico Madrid player could be fast-tracked to a coaching role with the first team before the end of this season. He has watched the Atletico Madrid senior team beat the duo of Real Madrid and Barcelona to top spot in the Spanish La Liga this season.
